Törggelen
For sure one of the best known South Tyrolean traditions.. After a demanding walk or hiking, there is nothing better then sitting togheter with your friends letting the day rounding out with traditional dishes: roasted chestnuts, "krapfen" and fresh wine. From October to November.
Grape Festival
Every year, at the 3th weekend of October, Merano organizes this traditional celbration. The highlight is represented by the huge procession, where you can see all sort od apples, red, yellow and green ones arranged to form a crown.
Decorated carriages, local and foreign bands as well as national costume groups and local "Schützen" are marching through Merano's street.
An experience that couldn't be more traditional and colourful!
